It may come to no surprise but all vaginal steams are not created equal! The only ingredients that are needed are water (I prefer spring water) a heating mechanism to boil your water and the proper herbs that will benefit you and your vagina. Either you are coming to the Yoni Gods for postpartum healing, a basic vaginal refresh, to assist with the removal of fibroids or with painful menstrual cramps you will need aligned herbs to get the miracle your hoping for. I will help you determine the best herbs for your yoni steam and a few recipes to assist you when coming to the Yoni Gods!
Natural herbs are used as medicine to heal, cleanse and renew your uterus. So, picking herbs that are delicate enough for your eyes and mouth such as herbs used in teas, are your best bet. Lets talk about some of the medicinal herbs used in popular yoni steams and how they assist you in your steam
Lavender is one of my favorites. This plant is so easy to take care of and the smell is sweet and calming. Lavender has antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties that offers soothing and cleaning powers for a healthy vaginal environment.
Rosemary is also an antiseptic herb that helps with circulating out old fluids and blood that have stayed in your uterus over time. Rosemary works as the purifier and stimulant. So if your looking to cleanse your uterus from previous menstrual cycles, this is most definitely the herb you should keep in your yoni jar.
Yarrow is a wonderful herb used to fight off infection. This herb works great for mothers who have suffered from perennial tears because it is great for wound repair, stitched tissue and also tender or bruised tissue.
Dandelion helps improve endocrine and reproductive health. The powers of the dandelion helps to get rid of excessive estrogen and toxins in the body.
Lemon Balm is another easy plant in my herbal garden and I love to touch its dark green leaves and take in the citrus scent. This medicinal herb is an antiviral herb that helps with relieving itchiness and smells delightful!
Calendula has beautiful bright, soft golden blossoms and are antiseptic. They are also very soothing to irritated tissues and also helps ease and treat cramping, heaviness and bloating.
Chamomile is known as a soothing and calming herb, used in teas for just that purpose. It helps with relieving cramps, tension, and pain. If you are used to painful menstrual cycles add this herb in to assist with a cramp free or less pained cycles.
Rose helps to soothe irritated skin, cleanse and provides moisture to the skin. Many times you will find this beautiful flowers petals in your yoni blends.
After learning of the benefits of each herb, and what they may benefit specifically, it will allow you to choose the best herbs either for you or your patient if you are a yoni practitioner. Here are some great blends.
1. PMS HERBS
These herbs are designed for those with healthy or long cycles. (Me raising my hand really high because this is ME!) If you have a cycle that is 28 days or longer and experience brown blood before and/or after your period, PMS cramping and/or back aches. (Me again!) This works wonders for turning your brownish colored period into a bright red! Cleaned!

2. DISINFECTING HERBS
Designed for those who are experiencing excess dampness and irregular discharge including white, yellow, green, or with and unpleasant smell. This is also a great blend if you are experiencing or are prone to infections such as yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis (BV).

3. POSTPARTUM HERBS
Postpartum Herbs: this blend is designed to support postpartum healing. Special cleansing and nourishing herbs are chosen to aid in the full release of afterbirth and offer enhanced recovery and care to the body.
